The Executive Committee of Wirt iż-Żejtun has visited Prime Minister Dr Joseph Muscat at his office in Auberge de Castille in Valletta.
During this visit the Prime Minister was presented with a copy of the publication “The Żejtun Roman Villa: Research, Conservation, Management. The Prime Minister was very keen in learning about this archaeological site found in our locality and the future plans of the villa were also discussed.
At the same meeting the committee presented a dossier, prepared by Wirt iż-Żejtun, which includes a number of initiatives and proposals on how tourism in the south east of Malta can be improved by utilising better the cultural assets which this region has together with the scenic beauty of environmental and agricultural areas falling within this region. The Prime Minister greeted Wirt iż-Żejtun for coming up with such proposals and promised that the government will be taking note of these suggestions.
