Archaeology

The South East of Malta is very rich in archaeological material.   This is mainly due to the proximity of the area to sheltered bays and ports, namely Marsalokk, St. Thomas Bay and Marsascala.

These pages will not only present information on archaeological sites which fall within the boundary of Zejtun as is today, but it is imperative to portray information on the different sites and material collected from what was the Zejtun boundary prior to the 16th Century.

The information about the archaeoligical sites discovered and documented within this region is gathered under the following headings.
