This morning, the committee of Wirt iż-Żejtun met His Excellency Dr George Abela, President of Malta at the Palace of St Anton.
His Excellency was presented with the publication “The Żejtun Roman Villa: Research, Conservation, Management”, published by Wirt iż-Żejtun last December. The President was briefed about how this publication came to life and the work involved to produce it. He congratulated Wirt iż-Żejtun not just on the quality of the publication but also on the researched work gathered in this publication.
The committee expressed its views with the President on the need to increase public awareness on our heritage and shared past experience and feedback which Wirt iż-Żejtun received through the activities it had organised.
During an almost hour long meeting, various historical facts about Żejtun and its people were shared with His Excellency, who was very keen in listening. He complimented Wirt iż-Żejtun for all the work done so far by the organisation and looked forward in meeting its members.
