NEWS: Wirt iż-Żejtun project qualifies for funding

Last month Wirt iż-Żejtun has applied for funds through the Small Initiatives Support Scheme (SIS) managed by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector.

The project named “BELTNA” is aimed at increasing awareness about the history of iż-Żejtun and its heritage among young children and will see the involvement of other organisations in its design and execution.

The Malta Council for Voluntary Sector received 104 applications for this year’s SIS and we are quite happy that our project ranked 6th, gaining 80% of the total marks.  The funding for this project amounts to €3000.

We look forward to make it happen!

  1. Congratulations.! Well done! One idea: have group of qualified persons (ARTISTS, TEACHERS, HISTORIANS, ETC.) to design, add historial accounts & images, as well as activiities for students in class and/or at home. Distribute the publications free to all students in all the local schools. You may need a major sponsor if the costs overrun the funding.

  2. Thanks Nick. Your suggestion has been noted. We will be giving details on the project in the coming weeks.
