Gużeppi Mercieca commonly known at Zejtun as Gużeppi Grelles, the short and handsome old man playing the accordian in folkloristic activities and enternaining social events for elderly people has left us and joined the angles in heaven earlier this week.
Gużeppi’s accordian folkloristic music was appreciated by everyone. Every year he used to participate actively in Żejt iż-Żejtun, going around and playing his accordian and smiling to all those around him. Last September during Żejt iż-Żejtun he posed to artist Martin Bezzina Wettinger whilst carving his figure in wood.
We are sure that Grelles will cheer the angles in heaven with his accordian.
