Without doubt the most beloved statue by the locals is that of Jesus carrying the cross or Christ the Redeemer. This statue is the work of the Maltese artist Carlo Darmanin.
Anyone viewing this statue is immediately touched by the look on the face of Jesus Christ under the weight of the cross.
The cross crafted of inlaid artistic work in ebony was made by Mose’ Dalmas and last year was its 100th anniversary. The finials of the cross are made of silver.

A presentation given by Ms Giulia Privitelli on the 19th November 2013 on her research about the history of the Zejtun Parish Church.

Now this is also being rewarded since you can add such experience into the Secondary School Certificate and Profile. Wirt iż-Żejtun will be giving a participation certificate to Form 1 to Form 5 students attending our activities.

Wirt iż-Żejtun had organised this activity for children in August 2011 in which Mr Lino Psaila had showed those attending how they make a "manuċċa" (a kite).
