On Sunday 10th November Wirt iż-Żejtun held its annual Remembrance Day with the celebration of Mass at the Zejtun Parish Church, followed up with a corteo, lead by the Zejtun Scouts and Guides group and with the participation of the local societies.
This year, Wirt iż-Żejtun, commemorated the memory of Mikiel Cachia by planting a carrob tree at the Ġnien tal-Kmandant, one of the gardens which was designed by Cachia under the British rule.
Wirt iż-Żejtun will be commemorating Remembrance Day on Sunday the 10th November. During this day we will remember all those who in the past contributed in one way or another to the historical and cultural achievements of our town.
Mass will be celebrated at the Zejtun Parish Church at 8:00am followed by a corteo with the participation of the Zejtun Boys Scouts and Girl Guides together with representatives from the local organisations. This year we will be dedicating this event to Mikiel Cachia and therefore we will be ending the corteo at the Ġnien tal-Kmandant, which was designed by Cachia himself.

A presentation given by Ms Giulia Privitelli on the 19th November 2013 on her research about the history of the Zejtun Parish Church.
By participating actively in Wirt iż-Żejtun you will be learning more and adding to your knowledge. Now this is also being rewarded since you can add such experience into the Secondary School Certificate and Profile. Wirt iż-Żejtun will be giving a participation certificate to Form 1 to Form 5 students attending our activities.

Wirt iż-Żejtun had organised this activity for children in August 2011 in which Mr Lino Psaila had showed those attending how they make a "manuċċa" (a kite).
