Yesterday, Sunday 29th January, Wirt iż-Żejtun held its Annual General Meeting in which the achievements of the organisation were high-lighted and discussed among the members present.
The meeting was chaired by Mr Jesmond Cutajar and the first report discussed was the annual report which was presented by the outgoing Secretary General, Dr Malcolm Borg.
The Treasurer’s Report presented by Mr Jesmond Cutajar outlines the income and expenditure of the organisation in the past year. Mr Cutajar stressed that the main income of the organisation is through membership registration and thus he appealed the members present to encourage others to join the organisation.
The Annual General Meeting confirmed the nomination of Ms Tracey Ann Cumbo whoes nomination was the only one received by the Executive Committee. The General Meeting was also informed about Mr Carl Grech’s resignation from the Executive Committee since he will be furthering his studies abroad.
The President of Wirt iż-Żejtun, Architect Ruben Abela, in his closing speech referred to the successes achieved by the organisation and outlined the vision for the coming year by mentioning some of the planned activities.
Following the closure of the Annual General Meeting, founder members of Wirt iż-Żejtun were presented with a certificate recognizing their merit as founder members.
